Abstract

ECT is first used in the late 1930s, it today remains clinically relevant because of its high degree of efficacy, safety and utility. A Iarge group of psychiatrists believe that ECT is the safest, least expensive and most effective form of treatment. Authors reported a case of drug resistant-psychotic patient resulting in marked improvement and discussed about the contemporary issues.
